One of my closest friends had a DIY wedding.  Her mother, aunts, and friends were all in on the “fun” of planning her wedding.  They were working until the early hours of the wedding day, putting together floral arrangements and adding other finishing touches.  

That same group of friends and family went to set-up the venue and even enlisted the groom himself to move tables and chairs!!  Everyone got dressed and headed off to the wedding but they left behind one important piece to the big day… the bride!! Nobody arranged for the transportation of the bride.  She eventually made it there but wow!

The entire wedding was spent with the family not only participating in the ceremony and reception but also cooking, cleaning, trying to catch a dance on the dancefloor, and then cleaning up and breaking down the whole wedding.  

I know you’re probably saying “it’s no way that really happened” but it’s a true story and it’s one that will happen again when you don’t hire a planner to oversee the details of our wedding day.

4. Allows your family and loved ones to actually enjoy your special day. Laugh, dance, and enjoy your day with the ones that mean the most to you. No guests or family members should be left out of the festivities in order to address problems, cue DJ’s or serve as waitstaff.

Even if you decide not to hire a planner, PLEASE at least hire a Day Of/Wedding Day Manager, that is a piece of mind that you will definitely want to have on one of the biggest days of your life.
